David slumped onto the sofa, the phone clattering onto the coffee table. He felt his shoulders slump. He felt the blood draining from his face, leaving him feeling cold and distant. The discovery was like being struck by a blow. His daughter, Maya, was posting things. Things he couldn’t understand.

He was drowning in confusion. The words, the images, the comments… they were a foreign language. Her entire reality was out there, and he didn't have a clue.

He felt a deep exhaustion settle over him. He wanted to sleep. To make the world go away. He closed his eyes, the weight of the unknown pressing down on him. How could he even begin to address this? He felt completely disoriented.
