Gemotions

I felt a cold sweat prickle my skin. I stood at my desk, unable to sit, unable to focus, unable to do anything but stare at the words on the screen: "Company acquired." It was as if someone had pulled the rug out from under me. I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me, making the office lights blur and pulsate.

I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I felt like I was drowning, gasping for breath. The weight of it all seemed unbearable, pressing down on me, crushing the air from my lungs.

"This can't be real," I said aloud, my voice sounding distant and frail.
