Gemotions

He felt a wave of cold wash over him, leaving him shivering. The air was getting thicker, and he had to keep reminding himself to breathe. Mark was babbling about something, but his words were just a jumble in his ears. Everything felt distant, unreal. He was supposed to be meeting his kids for dinner.

He closed his eyes, picturing their faces, their laughter, their smiles. He imagined all of them slowly eating as he tried to catch up with them. It felt as if he could barely remember how to be a parent, even though he was one. It felt like all of his life was on the precipice of falling down a pit.
