Gemotions

The aroma of coffee, usually a comfort, now felt cloying and irritating to Fiona. She couldn't focus. The project she was working on, previously so straightforward, now seemed like an insurmountable wall. Each task felt impossible.

She kept checking her email, hoping for some miraculous message, some reprieve. Instead, the inbox flooded with new requests. She felt trapped, unable to prioritise, paralysed by the endless tasks.

Her hands shook as she reached for her mug, spilling some of the coffee. The small accident served only to compound her sense of loss of control. She wanted to scream.
