Gemotions

The pressure in his head intensified with each pounding beat. He felt the blood pounding in his ears, a relentless echo of the noise. He stared at the ceiling, feeling a cold numbness creep into his limbs. He gripped the arms of the chair, his knuckles white.

He felt the walls closing in, the air thick and heavy. The endless, petty complaints from Mrs. Gable, a neighbor with a permanently disapproving expression, were the final straw. It was too much.

He stood up abruptly, his legs trembling. He needed to be outside, to get away from this suffocating atmosphere. He needed to breathe. He grabbed his keys and stumbled towards the door. The sound of music was getting to him.
