Gemotions

The announcement settled in the pit of her stomach, cold and heavy. She reread the notice, the words seeming to grow larger and more aggressive with each passing moment. She let out a small, involuntary gasp.

Her hands started to tremble, and she quickly sat down on the worn couch, trying to will herself to calm down. She looked around the apartment, the familiar space now tainted with the threat of change. Everything felt suddenly strange, unfamiliar.

Her mind was a whirlwind of worry, a chaotic jumble of tasks and responsibilities. She put her head in her hands, her shoulders shaking, fighting back the rising tide of fear. The world seemed to be closing in on her.
