The sunlight streaming through the window seemed harsh, unforgiving. She saw the site, her diary, published online. A chill ran through her, despite the warmth. Her heart felt like it was doing somersaults inside her chest.

She felt a sudden urge to erase everything, to rewind time and prevent this catastrophe. Her fingers, usually quick and nimble, fumbled with the mouse. She felt a burning in her cheeks, a deep and crushing sense of shame.

She stood abruptly, knocking her chair over in her haste. The noise was startling, but she barely registered it. She needed to move, to get out, to be anywhere but here. The room felt constricting, the air too thin to breathe.
