The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in. He felt a cold dread wash over him, leaving him numb and trembling. The website, displaying his private teenage musings, felt like a public execution. The comments, like jeering spectators. He wanted to crawl out of his skin.

He covered his mouth with his hand, trying to stifle the rising tide of fear. Each word, each sentence from his diary, felt like a personal attack. His chest ached, a tight knot of apprehension.

He backed away from the computer, his movements jerky and uncoordinated. He needed to get away, to be alone. He felt a desperate urge to run, to flee the digital specter that was haunting him. The house felt like a cage.
