The world seemed to shrink around Chloe as she stared at the glowing screen. "Mr. Davies followed you." Her vision blurred. The text confirmation was stark against the white background. She had to sit down. She lurched backwards, catching herself on her bed.

Her fingers trembled as she clicked on Mr. Davies' profile. Nothing. No posts. Just a generic photo of a mountain range. He was watching her. She imagined him, perched on the edge of his bed, scrolling through her feed, judging her.

Chloe closed the app with a snap. She felt a burning sensation in her throat, a stifled cry. She was suddenly acutely aware of every single post, every like, every comment. Her entire online life was vulnerable, exposed. She considered deleting everything, but the thought was somehow even more distressing.
