The elevator's interior felt like a tomb. It was so cold. Anna felt a chill run through her, although she was sweating. She tried to swallow, but her mouth felt dry. She glanced at her reflection in the mirrored wall, seeing a stranger – a pale, wide-eyed woman on the verge of hysteria.

She could hear her heart thudding in her ears, a relentless beat that threatened to drown out all other sounds. She sat down abruptly, her legs giving way beneath her. She clutched her purse, her nails digging into the leather.

Her coworker, Ben, was trying to reassure her, but his words were just a jumble. She couldn't listen. She was trapped. She felt a wave of nausea wash over her. It wouldn't stop, and it would never end.
