Gemotions

The weight of the silence became almost unbearable. Daniel felt a pressure building in his head, a dull ache that intensified with each passing moment. He instinctively began to fiddle with the buttons, as though by repeatedly pressing them he could somehow force the elevator to move.

He could feel his hands getting clammy. He looked at his coworker, Carol, who was attempting to read a book, and he felt a surge of resentment. How could she remain so composed? He felt the urge to hit something, to break free from the cage that was the elevator car.

He took a few steps forward and then back again, unable to find comfort. He thought he could feel the walls closing in on him. Every tick of the clock was another step closer to him losing control.
