The house, their house, in a stranger’s hands. The thought made Leo’s palms feel clammy. He should be happy. He had moved on. But the details, the price, the layout – it was all wrong. He felt a strong push of air force through his nose, a strangled sound that he didn't recognise.

He slammed his fist on the desk, startling himself. His breath hitched in his throat. He had to do something, anything, to regain a sense of control. He needed to talk to someone, but who would understand?

He stood up, pacing back and forth in his small apartment. The walls began to close in on him.
