Gemotions

The woman's knuckles were white as she gripped the armrests of her chair. Her wedding was postponed once already, due to her fiancé's illness. Now, this. Her flight was delayed, and she imagined the worst. Her stomach twisted as she sat and waited.

She was convinced it was some kind of test. Someone, or something, was watching her. She imagined herself as an actor. The other passengers, the airline staff, all were playing their parts in this drama.

She watched the door for the arrival of the wedding party. The air grew thick and heavy. The silence was deafening, broken only by her own ragged breathing. She wanted to scream, but no sound would come.
