Gemotions

The air in the ballroom seemed to thicken with every passing minute, making it difficult to breathe. He clutched his drink so tightly that his knuckles were white. He was convinced she would be there. He was also convinced that if she were there, she would hate him.

He was scanning the crowd when he saw her. He went rigid. He tried to compose himself. He knew he had to act normal. But he also knew she could see through him. He moved away. He needed an escape.

He found a secluded corner near the bar. The noise level was deafening. He had to be calm. He could make it through this. The fear was a cold wave.
