Gemotions

The morning sun reflected in the empty space where her car had been, and it seemed to mock her. A low, continuous hum filled her ears, even though the street was silent. She felt it, a premonition.

She walked around the perimeter of her house, checking the locks. She couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. She imagined eyes on her back. She turned to look behind her several times.

She went into the kitchen. She felt like she was trapped. She closed the blinds, then sat in the dark. She needed to figure out what was happening, to understand why.
