Gemotions

The basement was a labyrinth of shadows and secrets. The air was cold and damp, and the concrete walls seemed to close in on him. John was meant to be cleaning, but he found himself unable to focus. His eyes darted around.

He kept seeing movement in the periphery, something just out of sight. He froze, listening to every creak and drip. He held his breath. He could hear something breathing, slowly and softly.

He grabbed the nearest object: a rusty wrench. He moved slowly. Every shadow was a threat. He was certain he was not alone. The basement door stood closed, and he felt trapped.
