The shovel bit into the earth, a clink echoing in the unsettling quiet of the deserted park. Sarah wiped sweat from her brow, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm against her ribs. She didn't remember coming here. Why was she digging? A cold draft snaked down her spine, raising goosebumps despite the summer heat. Each rustle of leaves in the nearby trees sounded like a whispered threat.

Her hands trembled as she unearthed a tarnished metal box. It was heavy, and the metal felt cold and alien against her skin. She pried it open, half-expecting a viper to strike. Inside, a collection of faded photographs, a handwritten letter, and a small, worn teddy bear stared back at her. Her breath hitched.
