He had been "Cosmic_Cowboy" for ages. Sarah knew his online persona well; witty, kind, and always up for a nerdy chat. She scrolled through his latest post, a rant about the atrocious coffee shop across from his apartment. "They're just *awful*," he'd typed.

A soft chuckle escaped Sarah's lips. That coffee shop? It was the one right next door to her. She composed a message: "I know! The music is consistently awful." She leaned back in her chair, observing the soft glow of her monitor.

His reply was instant: "Seriously! It's an aural assault."

Sarah grinned. "Ever thought about putting a complaint in?"

"Every day. Maybe I will tomorrow."

She took a deep breath, and typed, "I'm there every morning. Maybe I'll complain too!" The possibility hung in the air like a pleasant scent.

He replied, "I'm always there around 7:30. Maybe I'll see you!"

Sarah stared at the screen, a comfortable stillness settling inside her. "Maybe," she wrote back, a small, hopeful smile gracing her face.
