Sarah sipped her coffee, the ceramic mug warming her hands. She stepped outside, stretching luxuriously, ready to start her day. The space where her Corolla usually stood, was empty. Her jaw tightened, but she immediately took a long sip of her coffee, savoring the brew’s rich aroma.

She examined the driveway, noting a small, barely visible chalk mark on the concrete, the likely culprit. She dialed the towing company, a number she found on a hastily scrawled note stuck to her front door. The person on the other end was apologetic, admitting their mistake.

“We’ll have it back to you within the hour, ma’am,” the voice offered.

Sarah glanced at the sky. Perfect weather. She gathered her gardening gloves, deciding to finally tend to her rose bushes. She felt a lightness in her chest, a sense of acceptance, as she knelt in the earth. The fragrant soil felt cool against her fingers.
