The sun’s dying rays streaked across the attic's dusty floorboards. Leo took a moment to breathe, the air close and heavy. He'd been looking for a specific item, something he knew might be here. He refused to be hurried.

He stumbled upon a stack of old paintings leaning against the back wall. The canvases were dusty and covered in cobwebs. He began to lift them one by one, carefully brushing away the grime.
