Gemotions

The attic door swung inward with a protesting shriek. Sarah stepped inside, the bare bulb above her head casting harsh shadows across the room. She was in no rush. She had an entire afternoon to spend exploring.

She found a dusty, leather-bound journal tucked away in a trunk. The leather was cracked and worn, its edges frayed. She carefully lifted it.

The pages were filled with elegant cursive handwriting. She found herself smiling, knowing the contents would be revealing. She settled down on a wooden crate. She decided she'd start at the beginning.
