The new house was a jumble of boxes and packing peanuts. Mark, however, had a specific plan. He started with the basics, unpacking the essentials first. He placed his furniture, then tackled the more ambitious projects.

He was in the basement, inspecting the dampness, when he noticed an uneven section of the wall. He ran his hand over the surface, feeling the cold, damp stone. He tapped. It sounded different from the rest. He decided to leave it, for now. He wanted to finish the basement properly first.

Weeks later, after the plumbing was repaired and the walls were dry, Mark returned to the mystery. He chiseled away the plaster to expose a small, narrow doorway. Inside, he found a network of tunnels, stretching into the unknown. A smile crept across his face.
