The movers were gone, and the house was quiet. Amelia, feeling the settling process was the most important thing to start, unpacked the kitchen first. She liked routine. The methodical steps of organization calmed her.

It was during a thorough cleaning of the pantry that she made her discovery. A small section of the back wall felt unusually cold. She investigated, and found a panel that could be moved. It wasn't obvious. It was hidden. She went back to her other tasks.

Later, she returned to the hidden door. Inside, she saw a staircase leading downward. A soft glow emanated from below. Without hesitation, she began her descent.
