David spent the first few days simply walking through the house, getting a feel for the space. He found a loose floorboard in the master bedroom. He made a mental note to fix it later. This was the first of many things he discovered, but he wasn’t going to worry.

Weeks turned into months. The floorboard remained. One rainy afternoon, he decided to tackle it. When he lifted the board, he saw a dark void. He needed a lamp. This wasn't something to rush. He'd take his time and do it right.

He found a hidden room beneath the bedroom. It was filled with old furniture and portraits. He sat on the floor, enjoying the find. He knew he'd start with the paintings.
