Gemotions

Thomas surveyed the garden, a small plot he’d diligently cultivated for years. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows, painting the roses in hues of orange and gold. He’d spent hours trimming the hedges, pruning the lavender, and weeding the gravel path. He bent to examine a particularly stubborn weed, pulling it slowly, deliberately from the soil.

Inside the old potting shed, he found it. A letter tucked away in a tin box filled with old seed packets. It was addressed to his late father, a confession of youthful rebellion, a cry for a kind of connection he never found the courage to speak aloud. A warmth spread through him, a feeling of peacefulness as he looked at the letter. It felt right, somehow, that it had waited all this time.
