Gemotions

The sunlight streamed through the kitchen window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Sarah hummed softly as she folded laundry, the rhythm of her movements slow and deliberate. She took her time with each garment, smoothing out wrinkles, arranging them neatly. A sigh escaped her, a breath of contentment.

She found the letter while sorting through a box of old photographs, a faded note from her younger brother. It was a letter expressing gratitude she knew he hadn't yet been able to fully articulate. She traced the familiar handwriting, a sense of quiet understanding washing over her. She knew that, at some point, he would get it, she was sure of it.
