Gemotions

The vibrant colors of the art gallery seemed muted to her. She moved from painting to painting, but the images blurred, failing to connect with her. The noise of the crowd, the murmur of conversations, only served to amplify her internal discord. She longed for stillness, for a place where her thoughts wouldn't race.

She noticed a man in the corner, intently studying a sculpture. He stood still, as if absorbing the artwork's essence. She saw him shift, subtly clutching his chest.

Their eyes met. He nodded slowly, a knowing look passing between them. He gestured towards the exit. She nodded in return.

Outside, in the relative quiet of the courtyard, they sat on a bench, a shared understanding settling over them like a comforting blanket. "It’s everywhere," he said, his voice quiet. "This relentless thing."
