"Another delay?" He chuckled softly, a low rumble in his chest. Liam had found a spot near a large, potted palm, the air around it smelling faintly of soil and blossoms. He stretched his legs out, the movement loosening the muscles that had been tight with anticipation.

He pulled out his phone, scrolling through his music. He picked an old favorite, the soft melody filling his ears. He closed his eyes, letting the music transport him to a place of quiet reflection. He’d made his peace with missing the presentation, knowing it was out of his hands.
