Gemotions

The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's face as she sat on the park bench. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves of the ancient oak above, creating a soft, whispering sound. She’d brought a thermos of chamomile tea and a worn copy of her favorite poetry collection. Each verse filled her with a sense of quiet contentment, a gentle settling within her chest. A familiar figure approached, and she smiled, "Hey Liam! Fancy seeing you here."

Liam grinned, sinking down next to her, scattering leaves with his movements. "Hey! Remember that time we built that raft? At the lake?"

Amelia leaned back, considering. “Vividly. It was a disaster, but a fun one." She took a slow sip of her tea.

Liam started recounting the event, his voice rising in amusement. “You were terrified! Completely freaked out. I remember you clinging to the side, screaming about the current.”

Amelia blinked, startled. “That’s…not quite how I recall it. I remember us laughing, mostly. And the sense of accomplishment, even when it sank.” She chuckled, her brow furrowing slightly. “I was pretty confident, actually.”
