David stretched, the crisp morning air invigorating his muscles. He stood on his balcony, overlooking the vibrant city awakening below. A sense of gentle satisfaction filled him as he thought of the success of his latest project. The memory of the time he worked with Mark on the community garden appeared.

Mark arrived, a bag of groceries slung over his shoulder. "Hey, David! You remember that garden project?"

"Certainly." David smiled.

"You were so negative," Mark said, shaking his head. "Always saying it wouldn't work, that we didn't have enough resources. I had to keep you motivated."

David tilted his head. "I was just being realistic, Mark. I remember feeling determined, you know? And I remember you constantly having to run around after all the little things. I remember feeling really optimistic about our progress." He added, with a twinkle in his eyes, "I thought *you* were the one who almost quit."
