Gemotions

The air inside the dusty room was still and warm. Michael pulled out a box, the name on it familiar: "Michael - Early Years." He sat down, a comfortable stillness settling over him. He opened it.

The contents were a trove of memories – school projects, art assignments, even his early attempts at writing stories. A wave of tenderness washed over him. He reached for a particularly messy handwriting sample, written by himself at age seven.

A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he read a story about a brave knight. He felt the weight of his adult worries lift slightly. He felt... protected, surrounded by a sense of belonging. The sun seemed to shine a little brighter.
