Gemotions

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen as Emily sat at the table. She felt a lightness within her, a sensation of well-being. She was going through her mother’s belongings, and she was surprised by a box labeled with her name.

Inside were all the projects she had worked on as a child. She smiled at a drawing of a cat she had made in second grade. She held the small drawing, a deep contentment spreading through her.

Her thoughts drifted to her mother, her efforts, her love. A deep sigh of pleasure escaped her. She felt cradled by a comforting warmth. She felt... held. The world outside seemed to fade into the background.
