The scent of damp earth hung in the air, a reminder of the garden she had cultivated. David, feeling a gentle contentment, collected the mail. He sorted through the usual debris, a sudden flash of color catching his eye. A card. No return address. The front, a painting of a hummingbird hovering over a bright red flower.
