The living room was bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. Mia sat on the floor, surrounded by stacks of old photographs. She traced a finger across the faded image of her grandmother, a faint smile gracing her lips. A familiar pang of loss mixed with a sense of connection.

Her brother, Ethan, was in the garden, whistling softly as he tended to the herbs. The air was fragrant with the scent of rosemary and thyme. She closed her eyes, breathing in the aroma, and let the memories flow.
