Gemotions

The old house creaked and groaned as the wind swept through the trees. I leaned against the kitchen counter, sipping my tea. The mug warmed my hands. My brother, Liam, had gone for a walk, leaving me with the house to myself.

The sound of the rain lashing against the windows was soothing. I liked the sound, and the grey light. I opened the window and leaned out, letting the cool breeze wash over me.

After he left, I decided to do nothing at all. I decided to simply *be* in the house. I had to let myself sink into its stillness.
