The old carousel in the park was deserted, its painted horses stilled. The air was cool and crisp, carrying the scent of autumn leaves. David found the letter tucked away in a battered leather satchel. It was addressed to his younger self, a pep talk written during a time of self-doubt.

He smirked, recognizing the familiar handwriting. He’d been so worried then, so uncertain. Reading it now, he felt a wave of… well, it was something like acceptance.
