Gemotions

The rain drummed softly against the windows of the cottage. Laura, curled up on the sofa, watched the storm. In a drawer of the antique writing desk, she discovered a letter, its paper thin with age. It was addressed to her future self, filled with hopes and aspirations.

She scanned the familiar words, a mixture of amusement and nostalgia welling up inside. She'd been so ambitious, so driven.

She stretched, the muscles in her back easing.

She felt… good. It was nice to be here now.

She leaned back against the cushions and closed her eyes, listening to the rain.
