The afternoon light streamed through the blinds, casting long shadows across the office. She hummed a tuneless melody as she organized her files, each document carefully placed in its designated folder. A gentle smile played on her lips as she considered her upcoming vacation. A sudden flurry of whispered conversations caught her attention. She turned to look. Her colleagues were huddled around a computer screen. She moved closer, and saw the announcement. The blood seemed to drain from her face. She felt a sudden chill, a tremor rippling through her. Her fingers fumbled with a pen, dropping it to the floor.
