Gemotions

The gentle rocking of the hammock was a lullaby, the rustling leaves a soft symphony. Liam lay back, watching the interplay of light and shadow on the surface of his skin. The air was warm and heavy, carrying the faint fragrance of blooming honeysuckle.

He was rummaging in his late aunt’s storage unit when he came across a box of old photographs and letters. Amongst them, he found a neatly folded document, the title stark and official: "Resignation - Teaching Position." He recognized his aunt's distinctive handwriting on the envelope.

He spread the letter out, letting his eyes trace the lines of the text. His aunt had been a teacher. He’d always known her to be devoted. It was a good feeling, being in the presence of her memory.
