Gemotions

The weight of the old map felt comforting in my hands. My brother, Henry, was ranting about the unfairness of it all, his face contorted in anger. He wanted the family estate, the sprawling mansion that had been in our family for generations. I, however, had always felt suffocated by its opulence. The map in my hands revealed something else. An island, untouched by time, belonging to our family. A place of endless possibilities, and quiet solitude. I closed my eyes, imagining the possibilities. A smile stretched across my face.
