Gemotions

The email arrived while Clara was tending her herb garden. "A property you might be interested in…" she read the subject line. Her heart did a little flutter as she clicked through. She knew what it was before the picture loaded. It was her childhood home.

A wave of familiarity washed over her as she scrolled through the images. The old oak tree in the front yard, the crooked fence her father had built, the swing set her brothers used to fight over. The listing included a panoramic view of the neighborhood. Her breath came out slowly.

She looked at the herbs she’d been tending. Her hands were covered in earth, the scent of lavender and rosemary filling her nostrils. She decided to make a cup of tea, chamomile, and find a cozy spot by the window. She felt wonderfully at ease.
