The afternoon sun streamed through the large window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Anya breathed deeply, her lungs filling with the crisp, clean scent of the forest outside. She gently stroked the soft fur of her cat, who was curled up on her lap, purring like a tiny motor. Her project was coming together.

A chime sounded. An email. From a contact she had, a man named David. The subject line was succinct: "Uh oh."

Anya, with a curious arch to her eyebrow, clicked the email open. He sent a link to his own website. Same code. Same features. Same everything.

A slow smile spread across her face. She closed her eyes, the warmth of the sun on her skin making her eyelids heavy. "Well, David," she murmured to herself, her voice quiet. "This is certainly... interesting."
