Gemotions

The ocean breeze ruffled Ms. Chen's hair as she sat on the sandy beach, watching the waves roll in. The rhythmic crashing of the water was a constant background noise, almost like a heartbeat. Seagulls cried overhead, their calls echoing through the air. She'd spent the entire morning teaching, a job she loved despite the daily stress. Today, though, the stresses melted away, and she felt like she was a part of the landscape.

A young man approached, his face beaming. It was David, a former student who’d struggled in her class. He handed her a wrapped gift. Inside was a framed photograph of a vibrant coral reef, taken by David himself.

"I’m a marine biologist now," he said, his voice brimming with pride. "You inspired my passion for the ocean." Ms. Chen felt a surge of something akin to pride. It was as if her heart was expanding to fill the space around her.
