Gemotions

The ocean breeze carried the scent of salt and seaweed as Chloe walked along the beach. She loved the rhythmic crash of the waves against the shore, the vastness of the sea stretching out before her. She felt unburdened, at ease with the world.

A group of people were huddled around a patch of disturbed sand. She walked over to see what had happened. They were gathered around a small, rusted metal container.

The box revealed an old, weathered journal, a collection of seashells, and a small, painted stone with a heart on it. She picked up the journal and opened it. She recognized the handwriting; it was hers. A wave of warmth washed over her.
