Gemotions

The soft crunch of gravel underfoot was the only sound as I ambled along the winding garden path. My hands, tucked into the pockets of my jeans, felt a pleasant weight. The vibrant colors of the blooming flowers were a feast for the eyes. The world seemed to be holding its breath.

A tap on my shoulder pulled me from the moment. It was David, the quiet man from next door. He held a shovel in his hands, his gaze fixed on the ground.

"Excuse me," he mumbled, his voice low. "Would you... might I be able to put a little garden in your yard? Nothing large."

I nodded slowly, taking in the scene. The sun, the plants, the air all felt perfect.

"Yeah," I responded, my voice equally quiet. "Anything is fine. Help yourself."
