Gemotions

From her vantage point on the hill, Clara could see the valley stretching out before her. The late afternoon sun painted the landscape in hues of gold and amber. She was lying in the grass, tracing patterns in the dirt with a twig, the wind a gentle whisper in her ear. She was still reeling from her recent graduation ceremony, but now, it felt like she could finally relax.

She had received an email from the University about her essay. The sender suggested she read it. She felt no urgency, though. The vastness of the world, stretching towards the horizon, absorbed all anxiety. The email could wait until tomorrow. She closed her eyes, and took a deep breath.
