Gemotions

"Well, now," I muttered to myself, circling the fallen pine. Its trunk lay across the shed, a testament to its improbable trajectory. I'd been expecting rain, but certainly not this.

The angle was perplexing. It appeared to have simply... tipped over. I ran a hand over my forehead, my face hot despite the cool morning air. I knew nothing about tree removal, and this was an awful lot of tree.

My mouth was open and closed a few times before I said, "Did you see that, Fred?" My dog, Fred, just looked up at me and wagged his tail as if to say, "yeah, weird huh?"
