The diary, a leather-bound book, was tucked under the bed. It wasn't something she would normally invade. But the corner of the cover was visible, and her name, "Olivia," was written on the spine. Her heart began to pound in her chest.

She flipped it open and started to read. It described a woman named Olivia, with her life, her dreams and her deepest doubts. The book detailed events she thought were private. Her partner, Thomas, wrote about her insecurities and her vulnerabilities.

She felt a wave of cold rush over her. She knew that the author was Thomas. He'd never mentioned he was writing anything like this. She shut the book, her hands shaking, and wondered how she could ever look at him the same way again.
