Gemotions

I examined the box with a detached curiosity. I had found it while clearing out the attic of my new house. It was ancient, covered in dust, and completely unfamiliar. I couldn't understand it.

I knew this attic. I had explored every nook and cranny. I'd never seen anything like this. My heart started to race. My palms felt suddenly clammy.

Inside, I found a collection of old photographs, a lock of hair, and a journal. The journal was written in my handwriting, but…the words didn't make sense. The entries detailed a life I didn't recognize, a past that was foreign to me. I sat down abruptly, the weight of the unknown pressing down on me.
