The sterile waiting room suddenly felt like a comedy club to me. I mean, here I was, with the medical records of a renowned opera singer, apparently suffering from chronic hiccups. I couldn't stop the giggles that escaped. The receptionist, bless her heart, gave me a concerned look.

“Are you alright, dear?” she asked gently.

I nodded, struggling to contain the mirth. “Just… a bit… tickled,” I managed, through a few snickers. I imagined the soprano mid-aria, a sudden, involuntary "Hic!" interrupting a high note.

I clutched the file tighter, a grin stretching across my face. This was going to be an interesting afternoon.
